I was going to move to Uruguay from the US until I realized my poor dogs would be in the cargo hold for close to 24 hours. No way I’d EVER do that to my little friends. So I drove with them to Cabo San Lucas to live there.

  2. Lauren Daw on July 1, 2022 at 12:20 pm

I find it horrendously cruel how people let their pets travel with them. It’s diabolical

  3. Lauren Daw on July 1, 2022 at 12:20 pm

It’s so annoying how he’s laughing at everything

I wish some airlines will have a pet friendly flight even just for once a month 😁🐶

  6. Sahil Sharma on July 1, 2022 at 12:29 pm

As everyone is suggesting new options of either have a pet on board or have a pet friendly flights. I assume companies shall make a gateway to get to the front cargo area so that people could get their babies into the cargo with no worries and could look after them in flight and make them comfortable. I really wish access to the cargo through cabin could be achieved.

  7. Jaime Lopez on July 1, 2022 at 12:31 pm

My Cocker Spaniel is quite a traveler… Dubai, Valencia, Amsterdam… Emirates and KLM are well known airlines to look after your pet ; thanks captain! Love your mood !! It brings a smile to us all

Are they not allowed to be loaded with human remains because pets can have poor self control when they’re hungry?

  10. Ruby Banerjee on July 1, 2022 at 12:36 pm

I am scared if captain of the flight refuses my bunny at the last moment. Want to fly with my bunny later this month

omg dead people are in those boxes

  12. find purpose on July 1, 2022 at 12:39 pm

It’s absolutely not acceptable to transport animals this way in cargo.
    Animals die in distress.
And pet owners should be able to travel next to their pet. Seperated from other people in a special cabin.
Also veterinary should work on a pill to give animals to make them stay calm during flight so they don’t die of heart attack!

  13. Ladychu on July 1, 2022 at 12:41 pm

I have to fly with my cat as I’m moving to different country and I’m scared af that something’s gonna happen to her…

  14. Lauren E on July 1, 2022 at 12:43 pm

07:02 Bodies may still be transported by air if they have been appropriately refrigerated and packed in a ziegler or other approved container, sometimes with dry ice (i.e., solid CO2 – the amount of which is dependent on the body’s weight and other regulated limits). As dry ice sublimates to gas, it displaces the oxygen within the carrying compartment – a potentially dangerous situation for any live animals also being flown in cargo.

  15. DrCharlesClinton on July 1, 2022 at 12:43 pm

Not good idea using the word “drama” to describe people who actually do need their dog with them. Information also should be updated: what about PSD?

  16. N Brink on July 1, 2022 at 12:44 pm

Who brings a horse on board, or a pig or peacock! Always a few twats who ruin it for the many. They should have restricted it to just dogs and cats rather than banning it all

  17. Catsetta Love on July 1, 2022 at 12:44 pm

My partner works as an airline crew chief, which includes making sure your furry friends are comfortably and safely in the cargo. He is absolutely in love with animals and is extremely gentle and careful with all the animals who board!

  18. Mischa Elle on July 1, 2022 at 12:44 pm

I wish they let dogs be free in your little cubicle section in first class or let us sign a waiver and sit in cargo with our pets 🤷‍♀️

  19. A Bird on July 1, 2022 at 12:46 pm

Once my kids grew up, I slowly switched from AK Malamutes, who never traveled, to mini-dachsund just so pupper could stay in-cabin with me on kid-visits. I just can’t handle the cargo hold idea. I put myself in their place down there, and…nope, ain’t gonna settle down.

I get in-home dog sitting here in Southern California when I leave for vacation but I’m planning to travel the world and need a one-way to England. I wonder if I get a business class I could have him with me since it’s a rather large dedicated space. He 40-42lb

  23. Iccha Bajaj on July 1, 2022 at 12:50 pm

I don’t understand why can’t we get our pets with us in the cabin if they are well behaved
Or like have a separate cabin for pets with the pet owners and charge us extra
Why can’t we have separate airlines or something that allows them with us or allows us to accompany them in the cargo if that’s the only option I can’t imagine sending my pet in a cage inside such a dark and unknown place all alone with the stress of travelling

My husband and I are moving from Portland Oregon to Portugal at the end of this year, (2022). Our furbaby, Jeter, is an 85lb Golden Retriever that will be coming with us. I am searching for any and all advice and information on the safest, most humane way to get him there. I’ve researched enough to know that flying Internationally is very difficult, and the only flying option for him is to be in the cargo area of a plane because of his size. I’ve been thinking that renting a van to drive from Oregon to the East Coast with him, then fly him from there to Portugal would reduce flying time in half. It would also allow us to break up the driving part of the trip with lots of stops. Please pass on any airlines that specialize in humane pet travel or any other helpful suggestions on other travel options out there. Thank you!! Sandy

I work in airport as cargo arrives 100% times pet’s other animals been loaded in back cargo area……..and I been transporting a lot human remains….

  28. William Davis on July 1, 2022 at 12:55 pm

We’re thinking of moving overseas but are torn about going because we’re not sure how easy it will be to transport our pet with us.

She is a 145 lbs dog and I’m not sure how safe it is or if they even make travel kennels big enough for her.

    It’s an 11 hour flight.

  29. Arya._. on July 1, 2022 at 12:57 pm

    Please answer this question..
So I have a large stuffed animal it’s a size of a 4 year old. Is it allowed to bring it in the airport? Or plane.. please tell me..

  30. Mischa Elle on July 1, 2022 at 1:00 pm

4:22 what do we mean by "lost"? for how long? also, are you allowed to put a camera in their crate and make sure it’s labeled as such so people loading them are aware that they’re on camera? in cases of lost, injured, and dead pets, are thorough investigations performed and if due to negligence, are those individuals held responsible?

  31. Emma Popa on July 1, 2022 at 1:00 pm

Can you take a dog on british airways flights from London Heathrow to countries in Europe?

  32. Matt Liston on July 1, 2022 at 1:01 pm

Can I fly myself as cargo with my dog? I’d only do it if I can chill out with him down there.

  33. Marie Smith on July 1, 2022 at 1:03 pm

Rabbits should actually be Is there a owner on the airplane because of how sensitive they are.

  34. TA on July 1, 2022 at 1:04 pm

so if your traveling for 20hours, does the pet have to stay in its cage during the whole time?? do they have potty breaks??

  35. VIJAY KINI on July 1, 2022 at 1:05 pm

Thanks Capt.Joe. this was a useful vdos as i am shortly travelling on Oman Air from Muscat to Bangalore with a dog and cat. Just wanted to know if the cargo hold where they will be located has any light or not?

  36. Kassi Kovaleva on July 1, 2022 at 1:09 pm

  37. hgp97 on July 1, 2022 at 1:09 pm

All of the pet names being mentioned shows how distanced this presentation is from the problem, in my opinion

  38. Kristie Kogut Rodriguez on July 1, 2022 at 1:09 pm

I just wish they would come up with a pet airline

  39. Gavin Lybert on July 1, 2022 at 1:10 pm

Honestly the reason I was watching this was because in the Rugrats in Paris movie I noticed Spike getting loaded into the cargo hold with the luggage and that kinda disturbed me

  40. Alessandra Ferreira on July 1, 2022 at 1:11 pm

Thanks for the information, trying to take my dog with me but is such hassle most the companies are not doing blaming the covid and rabies

  41. Fanny Alexander on July 1, 2022 at 1:11 pm

If you have the option, never place them in the cargo instead have them with you in the cabin. Pets can die in cargo due to heat combined with stress.

  42. Koala Boy🐨🐨 on July 1, 2022 at 1:11 pm

Hello Captain Joe, I just need more info regarding transporting a dog into cargo compartment especially a labrador. In a long journey such as 10-12 hours, how would the dog survive without food, water or having the need to relieve himself (toilet) throughout the journey? Are we allowed to facilitate our dog during the flight journey? Would we be able to visit our dog in case of the dog being stressed or scared of the experience?
    Thanks

  43. Devin H on July 1, 2022 at 1:11 pm

Which airlines do you recommend for large breed dogs like golden retriever and German Shepards? Looks like most airlines don’t approve big crates now

  44. Nonna on July 1, 2022 at 1:12 pm

We live in a beautiful world that only a few enjoy, the others have to watch it on YouTube .

Why $2000 for a small dog for 4hrs flight?

  49. Nisreen Ello on July 1, 2022 at 1:18 pm

Hi, I am flying with my dog on a long haul 11+ hour flight. Is it safer to fly on smaller plane ( dog loaded onto aircraft on a pallet using forklift or a larger plane and dog being loaded manually. Is there difference in safety and stress??
I am really worried about my dog but I am moving back home and we have to do this trip. Can you please advise?

  50. DaN Oliveira on July 1, 2022 at 1:18 pm

I live in Brazil and I’m thinking of moving to Ireland. Would my 10-year-old dog survive a 15-hour flight to Ireland? I don’t wanna say goodbye to her (she lives with me and my mom) and I wouldn’t like to say goodbye to a wonderful career opportunity either. I need advice. Anyone with traveling experiences?
