Dehydrated Vs. Freeze-Dried Pet Food – Which Is Safer?

Many owners choose to give single ingredient treats and chews to their pet over processed ones because they’re a healthier choice. While this is usually the case, there are some things to know when it comes to the way these treats are preserved!

VIDEO ★ Premade Raw vs. Homemade Raw Pet Food

I watched your video about rice not being good for dogs and had a question about that. I didn’t know if it was appropriate to ask on instagram so here I am! My dog has a very sensitive stomach and it took me a few years to find a kibble that works for him, and as you may guess, it’s lamb and rice. I’m planning on moving more towards raw feeding, but right now doing 50/50 because of the cost. I know this is kinda far fetched but I was wondering if there is a better "filler" in these kibble foods than rice. I kinda don’t wanna change the kibble because it really agrees with my dog’s stomach and probably won’t switch, but I was still wondering. Thanks!

My 2 cats denied to eat raw, could you please advise which ingredients I can add into their meals? 🙁 I normally feed them kibble and wet food mixed with kefir

What do you think of air dried?

  4. Zira Draws on August 19, 2021 at 4:00 pm

could i give whole small animals? Like mice or rats? Like the whole thing fur and all? I mean my Chihuahua will catch kill and eat them ( most of the time only a little cuz we now supervise her) and we stop her anytime she dose. But could we be buy feeder non diseased small animals and feed them? I havent read anything legit saying no just the same reason why people say no to any raw food.

I don’t get why people bother with dried stuff. Just feed it fresh. The dried stuff costs more anyhow.

I’ve been feeding my dachshund once a day in the evenings. I’ve made sure to properly portion muscle meats, meaty bone, organ meat etc. and she keeps having loose stool :/

  11. Liliana Marshall on August 19, 2021 at 4:11 pm

This is great, I feed freeze dried and am going to start feeding heart soup for my ferret for any nutritional gaps.

  12. Charlie The CairnTerrier on August 19, 2021 at 4:12 pm

Charlie’s favorite treats are freeze drier liver pieces! I get it from my local raw pet shop. ( It’s hour drive but they actually deliver all charlie’s raw food frozen to my door, how great is that! That is so hard to find in my country, raw feeding is so still uncommon here)

Hello! I have a question. Do you feed your hedgehog the whole adult mice? I saw the video where you feed him pinky mice, so I started buying my hedgehog some too and she seem to like them. Also, would you cut the adult mice in pieces for your hedgehog? Thank you!

Are synthetic vitamins bad? I’ve been feeding my dog with Ziwipeaks “air dried” raw food, and I think they add synthetic vitamins to it.

I work in pet retail at a higher-end pet store. We carry all types of raw food (freeze dried, frozen, etc.) I wish videos like these were included in our onboarding training!

i bought my cats dehydrated duck necks because i read that i can give it to them. is it safe to feed as long as i watch them or do i have to be aware of something? 😅

  25. Allissa Chavez on August 19, 2021 at 4:39 pm

You should make a video going more into depth on grains and plant matter for dogs and cats when they consume an animal who eats these things! I work at a pet store and im wanting to feed raw and I get so many people saying how when a large cat or wolf eat a prey, They are also eating all the plant and grain matter from the animals they are consuming, therefore there body is digesting and eating these things naturally! But I wonder if there is a difference from kibble vs an actual animal eating these things! I hope that wasn’t confusing but I would love to see a video on this topic!

Nice video! Can I use dehydrated beef kidney for beef kidney? I cannot find any raw source of it. Could it possibly deprive nutrients? If so what can I feed in replacement of the nutrients/what nutrients would be missing?

I used pork trotter to make bone broth this week, since pork trotters are very fatty, should I still feed the meat left from the pork trotters?

Hey, thank you for your videos and I’m hoping to ask a question about feeding whole prey. Is there any difference between the standard of whole prey for reptiles and for mammals? in other words, can I buy all sort of whole prey from the store mainly aimed for reptile owners and feed them to cats? I can’t really find out if there are some viruses/diseases that are only transmitted between mammals..

Have you found that freeze-dried blue mussels are a sufficient source of manganese still? it’s difficult for me to find the manganese content for most of these freeze dried or even frozen mussels
