Dog Porch Potty Build Video

In this video I show how I built my dog porch potty. If you are wanting to see a porch potty for dogs DIY video then you came to the right place. When you are porch potty training your dog you will need a nice place for it do go to the bathroom. This porch potty for dogs can be built using simple supplies from your home improvement store. It was important for me to have a dog porch potty with a drain so that there is less clean up. The dog porch potty grass that I used is fake. All of the supplies for this dog porch potty DIY project were easy to find and work with. Some people go all out when making a dog patio potty and I decided that for my dog patio potty system I would keep it simple. The drain on this dog patio potty DIY build is just pond tubing. This porch potty for large dogs or small dogs works great for my golden retriever puppy. I hope that the porch potty assembly instructions that I show in the video are easy to understand. My goal is to give you a general idea of how to build a custom dog porch potty so that you can go build one yourself.

I rather teach my dog to go outside. If it’s a cat or rabbit or any small animal, I’ll teach them to use a litter box.

How do you only have 4000 subscribers after posting this video? This is going to save my sanity. Thank you so much. And that puppy is freaking adorable.

What are the metal hole flat parts?

  9. Bradley Fischer on January 11, 2022 at 2:37 am

I really like the design its very creative. How has it held up? I’m thinking of making one with same material but maybe something lighter for the frame so it’s not too heavy and still 8in tall.

I was planning out possibly building something like this to increase the places that we could consider for our next rental when I ran across this build. You took some of my ideas & expanded on it to be something not just functional, but actually nice looking. Well done

Where did you get the steel plates?

  32. are_eye_see on January 11, 2022 at 3:04 am

Think im going to do something similar . do you have any issues with the steel peg board rusting . I would think in no time that hole sheet would be a rusty mess being in the elements

  33. Terra Fenix on January 11, 2022 at 3:05 am

That’s a great job! Just one question, does the box save odors over time?
    Thanks for your video!

Beautiful. Do you take commissions? This looks just like a project I would never get right.

  43. Amanda Lopez on January 11, 2022 at 3:20 am

I’m curious… is your dog a female? If not this will not work when the dog is older and lifts his foot to pee. The dog might not even get on the pad and will most likely try to pee standing near the edges, while peeing on the frame and missing the whole green pad itself.
I believe this is an awesome build for female dogs… but it would need to be modified for adult male dogs. The struggle is real with the leg lifting and missing the whole pad/ potty tray.
I have a male toy poodle and he will do his business on the pad, but misses most of the time and I do believe he loves peeing beside/near the pad and not on it, unless it’s #2. I keep a mop beside the potty pad and use a diaper trash can to dispose of the pads and control the smell.

The video editing is as impressive as the actual build. Thank you for taking the time to make this

  45. Angie Birdlady on January 11, 2022 at 3:20 am

This is like watching a master carpenter, very impressive! I would love to get an update on how puppy grew into his porch potty.

I found that fake grass is a real pain as it holds the smell of the urine even after thorough cleaning. Also if the dog uses it as a sun bed they end up smelling too. On my balcony (as we live in an apartment), I have a large tray, with a thick rubber door mat that has holes in it. A layer of cat litter on the tray under the mat and a puppy pee pad or some sheets of newspaper on top. Then just change the top layer daily.
My dog will not pee and poop in the same spot. So she will go on the tray for a pee but poop on the balcony floor beside it. A real pain. She is house trained but just cannot seem to understand that she can go for both in the same spot.

  50. Ariane Provost on January 11, 2022 at 3:29 am

    I have two Goldens puppies
Once they are full grown, would they fit on this, or do you recommend I go bigger?
    Cute pup! 🥰
