What sbout a male that lifts the leg ?

  3. Lupita Lara on July 23, 2021 at 6:54 pm

How do you clean it? I know poo you pick up as you go, but urine? Do the pellets clump? Or do you just leave it alone and replace the entire thin at the end of the day? How often to you replace entire bedding?

  4. Miki Mochi on July 23, 2021 at 6:54 pm

Is it feasible to litter train a medium sized dog too? How about large?

  5. mike hamblen on July 23, 2021 at 6:55 pm

Good video. I’m having a hard time finding a puppy litter box/tray. Everything says kitty litter box. Didn’t find any at Dollar General.

  6. pafdc1030 on July 23, 2021 at 6:55 pm

what would happen if a puppy eats the pellets?

  7. Jenn Lee on July 23, 2021 at 6:55 pm

This works! I picked up my puppy on Wednesday and today (Friday) he’s using it. Two days and he’s already going on his own! My puppy is 8 weeks old. I was soooooooo skeptical! This was the best advice ever! Thank you sooooo much!

  8. Lana B on July 23, 2021 at 6:55 pm

How do you train your dog to also use outside for potty?

  9. Jade O'Neil on July 23, 2021 at 6:56 pm

I’m waiting for my pup to come home, and I have been stressing about how to potty train since I live in an apartment and pup won’t have all vaccines yet.

This is a great solution, especially since I switched to pine pellets for my cats litter!

Hello! I just found this video and I’m so impressed. Our breeder has already litter trained our mini Aussie and since it’s winter and so nasty we decided to continue with this for now. I read through the other questions and comments but i was hoping to get a more specific answer from you. 😉
    1. How do I mitigate the smell? Baking soda? Or does the litter keep the smell down? We have a TS right by our house so I’m going to get what you suggested, but I have a super nose and am concerned about it smelling.
    2. When I change out the litter and disinfect it, do I need to keep some of the pee litter so she smells it and knows where to go?
    3. We plan on her also going outdoors so will this be confusing to her or will she be able to figure it out? When she’s full grown (25ish lbs) will she be too big for the litter box?

Sorry for the million questions but I do appreciate your responses and this video!

  11. Brooke Floyd on July 23, 2021 at 6:59 pm

We have clumping cat litter would it hurt them really bad if they ate it? I’m scared they’ll eat it 😂

  12. Elaina Shafer on July 23, 2021 at 6:59 pm

I’m curious, do you find that there is any smell left when using a litter box, or does it go away if cleaning it is kept up?

    Great video

  14. Abbey Awesome101 on July 23, 2021 at 7:00 pm

I have four dogs and we live in the country side where we have cougars bobcats more wildlife and we take them being inside at night along with are life stalk so the potty pad method will work well for us

  15. Ruby Romaine on July 23, 2021 at 7:01 pm

This is interesting. I can see the appeal for breeders but it gets kind of messy for long-term use that’s why people like the pads. I do not recommend those reusable pads because as you mentioned they easily mistake them for rugs or even your blanket. It’s basically like training them to just pee on anything soft. If you stick to the traditional throw away pads this will help. Sorry it’s not very eco or budget friendly.

I am trying to get a 5 month old pup to break a bad habit – the owner became bedridden and the grandmother did not walk the dog..I am trying the young puppy method..its been 3 weeks and he use the potty pan when closed in

How do I start an adult chihuahua who has never been pad trained to use a litter box? Also never been confined to a cage or small area. We are moving to a small apartment (I’m a senior). Advice please.

  18. Black Sky on July 23, 2021 at 7:03 pm

Our yorkie has been with us for 2 days he runs where no one is looking and pees and poops on the floor QwQ instead of doing it in the litter box he sleeps in it !

  19. kandgray on July 23, 2021 at 7:05 pm

So I’m having issues litter box training my chihuahua. He will poop in the litter box without issue but he will not go pee in it. How can I correct this behavior? Thanks in advance 😊

  20. REvil Harleen on July 23, 2021 at 7:06 pm

But how do I stop her from eating her mess after she potties in the litter box? She wants to eat her mess no matter how many times I try to stop her . I have a 12 week old frenchie and she really should be litter box trained but I don’t know how when she thinks everything is food . I don’t want her to eat the chips in the box either .

  21. Kathern Pernell on July 23, 2021 at 7:06 pm

I’m really sure you can build it yourself. I did this 2 weeks ago thanks to the Woodprix plans.

  22. Aqua Juwel on July 23, 2021 at 7:06 pm

I live in a house with a garden here in Norway so my dogs roam free, but I must say, this idea is super smart especially for people with smaller dogs in apartments.

  23. Windyanne Ricochay on July 23, 2021 at 7:07 pm

What happens if you have a small I mean small apartment y you have a litter box trained Cat who is 10 years old , y you are bringing in a Chihuahua ? Do you know if Shelters use Litter boxes for dogs like Chihuahuas because I will probably Rescue a life from the Shelter if they do not take too long in their process etc y try picking the chihuahua For Me .

  24. Alexisasheep on July 23, 2021 at 7:11 pm

Great for when you can’t make it back home for a lunch walk. No regular accidents, no harm done to the bladder of the dog and all that. When you get home you can go on a good walk and play without worrying about the rug or that they’ve been holding it in for too long.

Love this video. Love the information provided. Love the cheaper option you gave. Pee pads are expensive.

  30. William Bowers on July 23, 2021 at 7:24 pm

We have a 12 week old Shih Tzu /Poodle. We have had him about 3 weeks. He was trained to use the litter box by the breeder and it is continuing to work fairly well for us. The only concern at this time is that when he urinates he is only putting his 2 front legs in the litter box box and the end result is that he pees on the floor next to the litter box. The litter is clean and I have gotten an oversized litter box for dogs. He sleeps in a 3 x 3 exercise pen at night and during the day the litter box is in an open area that he has access. Any idea how to get him to put all 4 legs into the litter box before he goes to the bathroom? Thanks

  31. Rachele Kennedy on July 23, 2021 at 7:25 pm

I’ve searched the comments, do you have a link for the bed you use?

  32. Jeff Martin on July 23, 2021 at 7:25 pm

Thanks! Just got back from Tractor Supply. Going to pick up our Toy Schnauzer tomorrow!

  33. TeguEggu on July 23, 2021 at 7:28 pm

I’ve definitely been looking into this a lot as my older dog has developed some issues and my dogs will NOT go to the bathroom when it rains. I’m glad to hear about a breeder using it too because I want to breed in the future! This is a great video and I’m very grateful for it.

So glad I found you. I am getting a puppy…. So many questions
Do I kept him in the "cage" until he learns?
I walk in my home when it’s cold and outside when it’s warm and wish to do the same with thw puppy. I saw ur reference to different leashes when answering another question. I would not imagine needing a leash for indoors but was not clear what you meant?
Now this is just a TRULY silly question but…. Do litter trained dogs poop outside as well? I mean if I plan to travel, litter is not a part of my luggage🤣🤣🤣
Thank you so much for posting

  36. Avery Ada on July 23, 2021 at 7:30 pm

Thank you for sharing this information. I’ve been looking for a litter box for dogs but can’t find since almost all the searches show pee pee pads only, and I’m happy to see your video. I’d like to ask if a 2-month old shih tzu can still be trained in using a litter box. I’m getting it next month and it’s my first dog so I’m excited and a bit nervous.

  37. lawrencia on July 23, 2021 at 7:31 pm

Thank you for the helpful ideas I have a baby Chihuahua his name is Chico and he loves to pee on the rugs. I was thinking why can’t he use a litter box. he’s small like a cat… hence my YouTube search and found your video now I’m off to the store for a litter box and tractor supply.

  39. Yazlareina on July 23, 2021 at 7:33 pm

Hi! I’m in the process of training my dogs to use a litter box and I was wondering how do you go about cleaning the litter ?

  40. Hello Shuangzi on July 23, 2021 at 7:34 pm

Hi we went to get the pellets you suggested and will start to use it for our puppy! If they poop on the pellets, do you have to take the poop right away as soon as you notice? How often do you clean their poop on there? Thank you!

  41. Angel12 Boucher on July 23, 2021 at 7:34 pm

Oh my gosh….you have beautiful chi’s….my baby is 15 now and moved to a high rise so in Orlando Florida area…so I’m going to have to potty pad to the outdoor lani area…so I hope it goes well. She’s very smart and knows many words….and she’s in good condition…we still walk every single day…all the tips help!

  42. pafdc1030 on July 23, 2021 at 7:36 pm

I’m having a maltese puppy soon and I’m planning to litter box train him. I found this video very helpful (thank you) but am I supposed to keep him in a crate all day? what if he pees/poops outside of the litter box if I take him out of the crate?

  48. HYTELES on July 23, 2021 at 7:45 pm

I love this video! I also use the same pine pellets for my cats and I am I cat breeder. I am looking for one good breed of dog to fit in with me. This would work.
