I’ve been looking around for a while now for useful ARK guides and I kid you not yours are the first ones that clearly tell me how to do something without missing any key step that they assumed you knew.
I have wyvern so I got the special egg
the ark wiki says Ichthyornis’s use regular kibble, but this video says it takes simple

If you are having trouble making these kibbles, here are some things you can do to troubleshoot:
1. Make sure you have the Ark Homestead Update (it is not available on Ark Switch yet). If you can learn the engram for triangle wood or stone foundations, you have the Ark Homestead update and you can use this new kibble system. If not, you can use these old Ark kibble recipes on this page: https://ark.gamepedia.com/Table_of_kibbles
2. Be patient. It takes a couple of minutes for kibble to cook in Ark, so make sure you give it enough time.
3. Try destroying the cooking pot and building a new one. It seems sometimes an old cooking pot that existed before the update doesn’t have the recipes in it yet.
4. Make sure to remove anything that could cause dyes to form, like charcoal.
5. Try an industrial cooker if nothing else works.

I’m playing on switch. Tried your recipe, which is the same as found on the wiki, but it didn’t work. From what I researched, people say that switch still has the old kibble system(?). So take dodo egg as example, the general recipe for basic egg on wiki is:
10 × Amarberry, 1 × Cooked Meat, 1 × Extra Small Egg, 5 × Fiber, 5 × Mejoberry, 10 × Tintoberry, 1 × Water
But this doesn’t work on switch, I actually needed to follow the recipe of Basic Kibble (Dodo Egg):
1 × Dodo Egg, 1 × Rockarrot, 1 × Cooked Meat, 2 × Mejoberry, 3 × Fiber, 1 × Water
This sucks cuz it makes things much more complicated. And I am confused. On switch, does the taming follow the old system or the new system?
