I did not quite get the bunny gate thing. Do you use the gate to completely enclose the area of the litter box, so they cannot get out? Or was the gate simply to sort of define or block off the area for some reason? When we were trying to litter box train our bunny peek-a-boo, he would use the litter box but then he would always drop several poops on the rug or area around his litter box, as if to say "that is my territory". And when we would pick up the poops, he would replace them as quickly as we picked them up. And then my husband made the mistake of moving his litter box to a corner of the dining room because he did not like having poop on the floor in our living room. After he moved the litterbox peekaboo would go in the litter box, but he also peed and pooped in a big area all around the litter box in the our dining room. We found peek-a-boo half starved wandering in our back yard about 4 months ago. He was wonderful at first, he took to litter box training very easily except for the poops he would leave around the outside of his box to mark his territory. My husband realizes he made a mistake in moving the litter box. But now that peek-a-boo has reached sexual maturity he leaves poops everywhere to mark his territory, and he constantly sprays my husband and me with semen and with pee, and he is very aggressive with my husband, he has bit him and he attacks his ankles and scratches them so much my husband has to wear boots when he goes around him. After seeing your videos I now know that he has to be neutered, and I hope and pray that will fix most of the problems because my husband now wants to get rid of him, and you can’t really blame him. He feeds him every morning and evening because I have fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome so I cannot always move very well first thing in the morning and can be exhausted by evening. I absolutely love peek-a-boo and I would never put a bunny in a cage, because it is cruel. I pray neutering will help solve most of our problems and we can re-train him to go in the litter box.

Thank you so much. We’ve gotten our bunny boy fixed and we have 3 litter boxes in the house and still he’s peeing and pooping everywhere. He’s even peeing in front of the litter box. This is the most helpful video I’ve seen out of dozens. I do want to ask he keeps peeing right where the water bowl is and we do have cats could this be the reason?? Is he trying to mark that it’s his?? The same goes with their food.

Well… my 3 just don’t wanna do it. They can and like 80% of things they do into the litter box, but then I’m sure they are just marking their space on purpose, although they are castrated 😛

I just want to emphasize again that a bunny should be spayed or neutered for best results 🙂

  19. Sinfulbeliever on November 3, 2021 at 10:33 pm

My bunny is too young to get spay. Does this imply to baby bunnies?

  29. Blxsm on November 3, 2021 at 10:40 pm

I don’t have any money to buy my bunny a new litter box and everything else that he needs and my mom doesn’t really like to buy him anything and I’m too young to get a job plus my mom doesn’t want to go through the bill of getting him neutered. It’s kind of discouraging me on being a good bunny mom :<

  30. 実偽Migi - JAE VOCAL PROJECT on November 3, 2021 at 10:41 pm

How often should a litter box be cleaned out of curiosity? 😮 And what kind of litter do you think is best?

Hello! My bunny uses her litter box all day but she does tend to leave many droppings outside of it at around 9/10pm. Is there a reason for this? She’s 3 months so she’s not spayed yet.

I have been given a 7 year old unspayed rabbit. The vet told me she is too old to be spayed now and I am having pretty much no success in potty training this rabbit. I have been trying for about a month now and nothing I’ve been trying works. (I did everything in this video) I have even had to wash her toys and blanket because she will just go anywhere. Is it possible that she is just untrainable or does anyone have any tips?
