Is a Dogs Mouth Cleaner than a Humans Mouth

The Truth About Whether Mice Actually Like Cheese

In this video:

Nearly 80 million American households have a pet, with a majority being a cat or dog. Additionally, 42% of homes have more than one pet. A lot of food is needed to feed all of these animals, so it should come as no surprise that pet food is a 21 billion dollar industry. While this food is specially made for our four-legged pals, the question many have (including this researcher) is- in a post-apocalyptic world where human food was scarce, could I eat my cat’s wet food? Would I get sick from eating my dog’s milk bones?

what’s worse is that some manufactured petfood if not all have euthanized dogs and cats from shelters in them. if it says "meat meal" or some other umbrellas meat term in the ingredients then it is legally aloud to have roadkill, farm animals who died of sickness or disease, and euthanized pets whom no want wanted in the shelter. (also remember that most vets are funded by petfood industries so they might say this or that petfood is best but that petfood industry was just the highest bidder.)

Couldn’t you get Mad Cow 🐄 Disease from wet canned dog food? I heard somewhere they can put nervous or spinal tissue in it. If the meat 🥩 was infected and humans ate the canned dog food, couldn’t you get prion disease?

“The common pet food ingredients by-product meal, meat and bone meal, animal digest, and animal fat can ALL be sourced from diseased animals and downer animals. These common pet food ingredients can as well be sourced from dead animals (not slaughtered USDA inspected and approved). These common pet food ingredients can also include suspect tissues – rejected for use in human food. Early signs of a prion disease include the inability to stand/walk; a downer animal. The sick/downer animal spleen, lymph nodes, tonsils and other tissues could easily be the host of an undiagnosed prion disease. The FDA believes these very same ingredients are safe to feed to dogs and cats.
Besides the prion disease risk to cats 🐱,what if a child eats that pet food?”

I had a girl I was friends with in high school who would occasionally snack on purina cat chow…….it was flipping disgusting to watch, haha. She’d put it in a little ziplock and eat them like goldfish crackers.

My cat drinks a ton of water. We always are having to refill his bowl. He also pees like 3 times a day. And surprisingly his pee doesn’t smell like other cats that I’ve had.

To everyone talking about making their own pet food: please remember that dogs/cats have very different requirements than humans and nutritional deficiencies can seriously harm your pets. Studies have shown that most homemade pet foods are seriously deficient, unbeknownst to the pet owners making them. So if you are going to do it, make sure you are doing it right.
