There is something just a little off about Stephen towards John, little things like cutting off funny moments a bit too soon, not smiling unless it becomes inappropriate not to. Maybe it’s me but their friendship seems to get cooler from Steve with each visit. And John seems aware of this.

  15. Eric Sanchez on February 19, 2022 at 11:03 am

Where’s the late night discussion about Democrats passing laws that are literally getting women raped? Why so silent John Oliver?

  23. MissPickles1980 on February 19, 2022 at 11:15 am

Fairly certain John Oliver is old (young?) enough to still remember LWT standing for London Weekend Television in the late 70s/early 80s, because I know I am and I’m not sure I could mentally transition those letters.

  24. Barry Lyndon on February 19, 2022 at 11:15 am

John Oliver is great but I wouldn’t call him "relaxing" per say

  25. deborah corso on February 19, 2022 at 11:18 am

John Oliver is entirely underrated. 🌞He is always a fuckin’ ray of sunshine. 🌟

LWT bit there’s more syllables in the acronym!?!?!? WTF!?!?!?

  29. mr k on February 19, 2022 at 11:20 am

    Sarah Constable please stand up!

  30. Maddock James on February 19, 2022 at 11:28 am

I love how JO continues to seem genuinely surprised that anyone, anywhere, takes him seriously.

  31. Mk on February 19, 2022 at 11:29 am

Hey gang welcome to lwt 🤣

  32. Steve on February 19, 2022 at 11:30 am

Like James Corden, left Britain because he wasn’t wanted here. Pair of smug gits.

  33. Martin Rayner on February 19, 2022 at 11:30 am

I see how great everyone thinks this interview is and I agree. It’s just a little thing I sensed and am probably way off 😎

  34. Jon Wolynies on February 19, 2022 at 11:31 am

Two great comedic late show hosts together is such a wonderful dessert to my evening!

  35. Mary Hershelman on February 19, 2022 at 11:32 am

I have always said that about WWII v World War Two.

  36. J 10ant on February 19, 2022 at 11:33 am

Plus as an Englishman LWT should make John Oliver think of Gladiators, Surprise Surprise, blind date and generally weekend tv on ITV

  37. Joey Indolos on February 19, 2022 at 11:35 am

Two of the most dapper gentlemen on late night, which made that part about smothering the moment startingly brutal 😄

  38. Helen Gournay on February 19, 2022 at 11:37 am

LWT was London Weekend Television in my childhood.

  39. C U on February 19, 2022 at 11:37 am

Some rando at BBC is gonna dig up Sarah. And that’s where you know ladies and gentleman, that media’s headed towards doom.

  40. Richmond W on February 19, 2022 at 11:37 am

Obviously it should be "L Dubs T" – but I still enjoyed them letting the moment breathe!

  41. george mcdaniel on February 19, 2022 at 11:39 am

This reminds me of oj days. Of Daily show.

  42. Bat Man on February 19, 2022 at 11:40 am

I never watch the interviews, except when it’s with John Oliver or Jon Stewart. Love how Colbert interacts with those two

  43. Jimmy Youmans on February 19, 2022 at 11:40 am

Was it really 20+years ago when these guys were on the Daily show together? *cries in old man*

  44. Wes Morton on February 19, 2022 at 11:41 am

Dude these guys should start a podcast.

  45. Canuckmom1958 on February 19, 2022 at 11:42 am

Oh ya…the two best combos for pure Late Night Comedic Magic: Stephen and Jon Stewart OR Stephen and John Oliver. I gotta say, John Oliver is one of the best humans on the planet: funny, witty, self-deprecating, brilliant, smart-as-a-whip, kind and sweet. His show is both hilarious and enlightening. Hope LWT with John Oliver goes on for many more Seasons – keeping us informed, laughing and sane.

  46. markmh835 on February 19, 2022 at 11:42 am

I wonder if these two guys are friends in their personal lives. They seem so effortlessly comfortable together.

  47. BF BLETHERING on February 19, 2022 at 11:44 am

LWT also stands for London Weekend Television (now ITV plc) so he would probably feel a bit weird using it

  48. Brian Bennellick on February 19, 2022 at 11:46 am

    I’d be through those doors.

  49. Craig496 on February 19, 2022 at 11:46 am

I doubt that the mention of "The Love Guru" was a dig at John Oliver, since Stephen’s hands are dirty from that movie too.
