How about a few sardines a day? I hear they’re loaded with omega 3’s . Would that be sufficient?

I had a Labrador that after a lot of test run that was scratching and losing his fur in patches and his Vet determined he had skin allergies so we found a food with omega, 3, 6 and 9 in it and changed his shampoo to oatmeal soap and his fur came back and the itching stopped plus his Vet said give him Benadryl till he stops itching.

My dogs eat natural balance ,salmon and sweet potato and still have bad allergies they leak their paws all day,the pug takes opaque pills and doesn’t help much so now the vet is giving Jim the shot once a month..should. I try omega 3????

  13. Ranu _ on January 2, 2022 at 11:49 am

My dog has OA in hip. My vet said that most Omega 3 preparations are not ‘stable’ to provide any benefit. I am not very convinced about the stability issue he mentions (I used Solgar wild Alaskan Omega 3 earlier)… your views please? He prescribed viacutan product rather in pump form and said its stable. It also has Omega 6 but I read its from borage oil and considered anti-inflammatory. Viacutan has good reviews and am ok with it, but would like to know about the stability of other Omega 3 products generally to have more choices when Viacutan may not be easily available. Thanks.

Signed up for the webinar. I have a question though. My dogs are on a raw diet & doing very well on it. Do sardines (in water) also give them the omega 3 & 6? I read that they pack a lot of good nutrients.

Hi, love the information you put out and products! I have ordered the cat supplement and cbd liquid! However I’m subscribed to your email, but it’s so scattered everywhere that it’s impossible to find links to products, I would really like to purchase from you but I can never find the info that easy! Could you please fix it! Thanks

What do you think of that powder Nutra Thrive for Cats? I don’t like that it’s a powder, can’t you just cook for your cat, and add Chinese herbs to the food?

On another topic… Dr. Karen Becker – Mercola health has been talking about Canadian vets being against raw food diet. She talked about you dr. Jones.

Find below what she wrote and the link to the article:
‘Many veterinarians, including Dr. Jones, still advocate feeding pets a sole diet of fast food for their entire lives. I wonder if he eats only ultra-processed foods to maintain his health?’

‘Interestingly, Jones admits that when he began seeing patients in his practice whose owners had switched to raw diets, the pets’ skin conditions had cleared up. He thought initially there must be something beneficial in the diet, but ultimately decided those benefits “had more to do with switching away from commercial processed food than the fact that it wasn’t cooked.”

This is what we call a clue — the part about how switching away from commercial processed food improves pets’ skin conditions — but it seems Jones didn’t think it was important enough to investigate.’

‘This is a common problem with fresh food-illiterate vets: if they didn’t learn about it in veterinary school, they disregard it.’

    Link to the article:
    https://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2020/09/26/feeding-your-pet-raw-food.aspx?

Perhaps you should address the falsities she’s spreading about you and your practice!!

Hi, doc Jones. Thank you for this content. Hoping to see a natural calcium source video next time. Keep up the good work!!!

  22. Jessica Campbell on January 2, 2022 at 12:05 pm

Dr. Jones, I recently found out that my water has toxins, its passed the limit to be safe for humans but I’m just concerned. I cannot afford to filter water for my four large dogs, they re outside and I have 5 large bowels of water for them, should I be worried? I mean I give them water from a hose outside.

Love the information that you share with us. I am scared – very afraid – of allergic reactions, like the severe type. My fear is that my dog can die if he has a severe allergic reaction, so I buy things that will help his health, and the items sit in my closet. 🙁 Is my fear on using alternative foods and supplements founded? I would love to add in sardines to his food, or add in those doggie greens when I make him stew. Is there a pill for me to get over the fear? LOL

Another brilliant video, my precious bichon is far more mobile since I started omega 3 about a month ago, only drawback is looser stools, ok in the garden but an embarrassing problem when out on the pavement. I have been taking omega 3 for a number of years and my joints seem to be benefiting too. Can definitely recommend thanks for highlighting this Doc. You get better and better!!!

EPA & DHA is great but I did read canines don’t utilize APA like humans and Omega 6 fatty acid isn’t good if dog has arthritis

  50. helpfulnatural on January 2, 2022 at 12:33 pm

My dog has several food sensitivities/allergies that cause itchy, greasy skin and coat. I mix either salmon or sardines into his meals several times per week. Virgin coconut oil is also helpful in mid summer when his allergies are at their peak. Raw egg yolks are also helpful. 🙂
