I’ve lived in California my entire life and I’ve been living in San Diego for 10 + years. For BBQ I recommend Grand Ole BBQ (Everything is good but I enjoy Tri Tip / Brisket). The Bronx Pizza (Cash Only) is a great spot located in Hillcrest, and they sell by the slice also. I prefer Fred’s in old town for a Mexican restaurant because their steak is cooked perfectly and tender every time I’ve been. The breakfast places I would go to if you have the desire for fancy in La Jolla Cove area – $$$ – Cody’s with an amazing view of the ocean (I usually get their Taco salsa on the side) Breakfast Republic – $$ – is a solid choice and lastly Perry’s Cafe – $$ – Solid diner breakfast and their Frittata’s are great and filling. Cheers!

phils and crack shack yes, but Broken Yolk is one of the worst breakfast spots in SD. Also, any pizza recommendation im skeptical about cause SD does not have great pizza but ive never been to pizza nova specifically

The prices really shot up since the pandemic. I’m not paying $20 for a sandwich. I’ll go buy groceries and cook for myself
