My gerbils love the milk bones! btw i was wondering if you could give me some advice? I was going to do a split cage with my female gerbil as her sister died and  i went to the pet shop and they gave us a male and told us it was a female, if i was able to get him fixed should i try the split cage? idk what to do :/

I’m pretty sure the dried mealworms have no protein, can I feed live?

A word of advice: I am not keen on dried mealworms to feed to pets as part of their diet, although I do feed wild birds with them. This is because with dried mealworms you only really get the exoskeleton which is pretty much completely chitin or whatever it’s called which is pretty much useless for your pet and compared to live mealworms they have pretty much no nutritional value, although they are still good. If you want to feed dried I think dried crickets would be better as they have higher protein content than mealworms anyway 😉

Fed my babies a locust each for the first time today, well my boyfriend had to do it i couldnt be dealing with live feed and bugs. They went crazy for them and absolutely loved them. They was a bit unsure at first on what they was but when it jumped about they ran for them and ate them. They just love their little bugs like locusts and meal worms.

Mealworms are my favourite treat to give to my hamster as well! A lot of different brands of hamsterfood tend to lack a bit in the protein department. So giving these are my way to make sure they get enough protein. 🙂
