Top 8 Small Pets That Could Be Right for Your Kids
Pets are great at keeping you company as well as helping your kids learn about the concept of responsibility, and caring. If you are not ready to maintain a dog or cat quite yet, or if you don’t have the required space in your home for a larger pet, don’t worry-there are plenty of tiny and adorable little animals out there that you can bring home. However when you bring home small pets, you must choose carefully as all of them have different characteristics and some might want to cuddle with you, while others are better at a distance.
If you are planing to get a pet for your kid who is aged under 10, you might want to consider an option that doesn’t get aggressive if handled roughly, as kids aged between 7 to 10 years old tend to be active and might handle the pet in some manner that it finds uncomfortable, resulting in harm to the child and pet. However, you do not have to work your head around all that because we did the research for you, and are proud to present this list of the ten most adorable, friendly creatures that you can raise at home. We have pet birds, rodents and rabbits and all of these cuddly animals have different behavioral characteristics and requirements in terms of space and food. Choose the one that suits you best.
don’t keep hermit crabs as pets please 🙁 do your research
Most of these pets are not good for kids specially not starting out
Please if your going to get a pet for a little kid don’t get a rabbit!
Rabbits are very fragile and if something does happen vet care is very expensive because they’re considered ‘exotic pets’
Also they can be very smelly if you don’t end up litter box training them
And DO NOT keep them in a small cage, if you need to keep them in a separate place get an X pen they’re like 40 bucks on Amazon And if you can’t afford that then you shouldn’t get a rabbit!
Also rabbits can be very noisy and very destructive that’s why a lot of people keep them in small cages, also their most active at dusk and dawn which means that you may get woken up by one of those rabbits. i’m not saying that you shouldn’t get a rabbit but I’m saying that if you’re uneducated just don’t. It’s better for the rabbits well-being and if you want to get rid of that rabbit eventually because it’s making too much noise or it smells too much you’re adding to the thousands and thousands of rabbits at shelters all across the world
Rats are good pets
I wanna get a hamster
You should never keep hermit crabs as pets. First, they live for 30+ years. They are especially bad for kids. At least do your research.
