My dog loves the treats I make from your video, with your supplement in it! She’s a 15 yr old Aussie and we don’t buy treats anymore, I make them with organic peanut butter and applesauce. And, I cook her food, no more dry food from a bag, it takes little time to throw it together in a big pot and cook it up for a few days. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!

We have gone to human grade treats or make them ourselves or just use food, easier and more reliable. yeah we stay away from China products. The liver snack seems good, just can’t give too much liver. Good tips.

I really think you could have done a lot more to encourage pet owners to come off of this animal junk food that is being sold in the states and here in the UK It is not just Chinese products. Millions of tonnes of dry junk food is being sold. I told the Manager of my local B&M store here in the UK that some of the products he was selling are dangerous… Now months later they are still on the shelves.

  13. ehrlichlanier c on March 21, 2022 at 11:07 am

Hi Dr. Jones and thank you so much🌸 If I make my own dog food what vitimens should I put in the food and what about ash etc. that is guaranteed on commercial dog food? I want to make her food but don’t know what to put in for daily requirements, do you have instructions you could share? I just subscribed and thank you again. Mary Lou 🌷What is your advice about anything with glycerin in it?

  14. Dee73kz on March 21, 2022 at 11:07 am

I enjoy your videos so much! This may be a little bit off but what do you think of "Ol Roy" dog food? A number of years ago there was a recall on that and it’s strongly believed it killed a dog I knew. 🙁 Also I was wondering if you could please make a cat version of this video if you don’t already have such a video? Thanks

I had a dog that was actually addicted to Costco chicken strips, I think they were safe from what was able to tell. I am leaning more toward homemade real food all the time now. I sure hope you took all that back for a refund, probably couldnt since you are no doubt famous there! WE also have to consider that even if the main ingredient is an all natural meat for example, with factory farming even just meat can be bad depending on that poor animal was treated.Just sad all around.

  18. Tord on March 21, 2022 at 11:11 am

I make sure everything is made in the USA and I only buy duck jerky that is a more expensive than usual and there is 3 ingredients, duck, vegetable glycerin, and salt! Omg just was reading the bag and it says made in China! How did I not see this now I’m throwing them out 😖

  19. Kat on March 21, 2022 at 11:12 am

Canadian treats do not have to put made in china on their packaging so I advise you not to give your dogs Canadian treats. Waggin Trains chicken Jerky dog treats which are made in china, have also been linked to Kidney failure in dogs, that has also caused many dog death in America. They have not been pulled from the shelves in America. Why has Purina, and store not pulled them from them from there shelves? Because most Americans do not yet know that these treats are making dogs sick and Purina and other dog treats made in china, are very popular and they can make money off the consumers. I make all my dogs treats at home with human grade food. Also have a dehydrator to make jerky, sweet potato chews, etc. I have several recipe books specifically for dog and cat treats.

I like to give my dogs a chew of an evening after their walk and relaxation time. A chew that will keep them busy for a while. Are there any you recommend? What about pig ears or bully sticks? I don’t necessarily give mine the treats very often but do like them to ha ve a chew. It seems to help their boredom. Thanks.

  25. BodyByDesign on March 21, 2022 at 11:15 am

I like that you Super advanced and honest ..
You will think that all vets will have that approach ..
But sadly not , here in LA most of them don’t care to adduct people .
And so many pets pay with there life for that .
I make beef jerky for my dogs , Human grade .
It’s worth the little time that it take .
A brand of dog food that I like is the : Paul Newman , they use only organic vegetables and as much as I know not own by any big corporations .
Thanks for great informative videos .

Loved the short ride in the care! Tula’s expressions, when you were waving the treats in her face, were funny. Do you have any home made recipes for dog treats?

What’s so sad about this video like you said it’s all common sense stuff. How these dog treats that are made in China still sell I will never understand

  31. Caroline Santiago-Reyes on March 21, 2022 at 11:24 am

Thank you for the information 🙏
Also what type of dog food would you recommend?

  32. ehrlichlanier c on March 21, 2022 at 11:25 am

Thank you so very much💞. I plan to make dehydrated treats for my dog. Are apples and vegetables ok? Should I cook the veggies before dehydrating them? What about meat? Do I cook it first then dehydrate it? Thank you SO much for your videos especially this one. You have taught us all so much. I’m calling dog food companies now to find out who the manufacturer is and where the ingredients come from. You would not believe what I threw out yesterday and today. You have been so helpful, God bless you!💝🙋🌠🌷 Mary Lou 🌷 and Little Grace 🐕🌹💝

  33. pntdblack on March 21, 2022 at 11:26 am

Why don’t these company’s care about the ingredients they use in their food??? I know they’re greedy and want to make as much profit as possible but in the long run if they help keep the dog/cat alive longer they’ll increase their long term profits! If the only motivating factor is making as much money as possible it makes more sense to protect the pets from harm and an early death to sell more product!

  34. Ralu♡ on March 21, 2022 at 11:28 am

Let’ s be seriouse, all kibbles and treats are only chemicals and not only the ones made in China.I feed my dog only raw the real food.

  35. InjunChief on March 21, 2022 at 11:29 am

The Chinese eat dogs and cats. You think they care what we feed our pets??Hell no they don’t care!!

  36. 10TOES on March 21, 2022 at 11:29 am

I even sometimes give all beef winners, sliced, boiled cubed chicken

  37. 10TOES on March 21, 2022 at 11:31 am

NEVER EVER buy your treats made in china, ONLY USA for my pooches,  Plus Hartz is NOT good, even flea collars or liquid flea is a no no.   I will sometimes buy chicken liver, & make cookies mixing it with healthy peanut butter,(no nuts) gizzards-boiled,   No raw hide!  Baked cow ears?  Yep, my dogs love ’em, I use those instead of those greasy pig ears.

  38. Banana Patch on March 21, 2022 at 11:32 am

Dog owners typically consider themselves animal lovers, right ?

Does it make sense for us to have other animals slaughtered in order to provide them treats ? There are great plant based treats and foods, from companies like V-dog. Just a question for all animal lovers watching today.

  41. Ms. Mei Mei on March 21, 2022 at 11:32 am

    ThAnks for all you do.

FYI: If you have a small dog, please be careful with dog bones and treats in general. I gave my dogs the Greenies dog treats for months. One day, I went to the restroom, while they were eating them. I came back and realized my dog was choking. I thought she was playing. But, I saw hair on my bed. I started the Heimlich maneuver on her. It took me like five minutes or more, to get it up. I’d hit her in the back then go back to H.M. My legs were like jelly, I was so nervous. I’ve probably said this here before. But, I try to warn people everywhere I go. After that, I break up all of their treats, no matter how small they come. Even though this particular treat was larger, as it got down to about an inch, is where she choked on it. It still gives me chills to think about it.

What about 100 percent duck jerky treat? I feed my dog duck jerky, is it safe?

  47. Kevin P on March 21, 2022 at 11:40 am

Hi Dr. Jones. Do you feed your dog homemade dog food or commercially produced dog food? Also, do you think a grain-free diet is a better choice for dogs? I read that grain in dog food promote cancer in dogs. What are you opinion in this matter? I’m asking because my 11 yo Labrador died of cancer last July. I fed her a high-end dog food that contained Lamb and rice as its main ingredient. Thank you as always for your informative vlogs. Looking forward to the next one.

Doctor do you have a video for Cat urinary problems? My friends’ kitty, Princess, has started urinating frequently and anywhere in the house. The vet has diagnosed her with a thyroid problem and gave her a thyroid medication to give her kitty, but nothing additional for the urinary problem. She has been weeks on the medication, has lost weight, and still has urinary problem. Thank you for your great videos. I don’t have a pet, but I recommend them to others. Whatever information, or a reference to check will be received with gladness, thank you so much, abi in az

Dr Jones, many people make home made dog treats. Do YOU have any recipes you could share with us? I cook for my dogs daily, so it’s no extra chore to make their treats. With the holidays coming up they would make great gifts for my friends who don’t cook for their dogs!

Just want to add that the 3 people who were sickened by the contaminated treats–it could very well be that they handled the treats without washing their hands afterwards. Always wash your hands after feeding your dog/cat treats. If they were to be contaminated, then they could certainly make you sick, as well as your pet.
