In this video I will be sharing with you how to make vet approved homemade, healthy dog food! This recipe works great for puppies and adult dogs! I will give you insight on why I took my dog off kibble and what changing his dog food to home made has done for his health! There are so many amazing benefits of giving your dog home dog food, it can decrease their chances of getting cancer and so much MORE! You will see how this home made dog food has CHANGED my dogs LIFE and took him off of medication!

I will be sharing with you exactly how I cook for my golden doodle puppy and my 6 year old yorkie! We make this recipe weekly since I am feeding it for two dogs! But if you have one it may last a lot longer. You can make huge batches at a time and store extras in the freezer for up to 4 months. As you can see in this video, both of my dogs absolutely LOVE this recipe.

**UPDATE: Not only do I give my pets supplements in addition to this recipe but I now add calcium into their dog food that I didn’t do in this video. I linked the one I use below and I follow the directions on the back of the bottle it comes in to make sure my dogs are getting the recommend amount of calcium each day.

Homemade dog treat video:

Dog Food Recipe (This recipe was approved by my dogs Veterinary. Please check with your dog’s veterinary before making any changes to their food) :
-1.5-2 Cups of sweet potatoes (I use 2)
– 1 cup of carrots
-4 Cups of frozen or fresh spinach
-1 Cup of frozen or fresh peas
-1 Cup of brown rice
-2 cups of filtered water
-2.5 pounds of ground turkey, chicken, or beef (My dogs love turkey!)
-1/3 of a can of 100% pumpkin puree (only ingredient is pumpkin)
– 2T coconut oil

– Wash and peel sweet potatoes and chop up in medium chunks or small chunks if not pressure cooking it.
-chop baby carrots in medium size chunks
– Add chopped sweet potatoes, chopped carrots, spinach, peas, brown rice, water, pumpkin puree, coconut oil, and then ground turkey to the instant pot (ground meat must be last)
– Put lid on pot and make sure it is on sealing. Set instant pot to pressure cook and set for 25 minutes!
-When done, let the steam naturally release (Takes about ten minutes)
– Use masher to mash everything together (see video for consistency)
* Allow to cool before serving to dog!

Recipe will last 4 days in the fridge. Freeze extras and it will last up to 6 months if stored in an airtight container.

If cooking in crockpot follow same instructions but let cook for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low. If cooking on stove top, ground the meat first and then add all the ingredients and let it cook on medium to medium low heat for 30 minutes or until veggies are softened.

    where is the recipe?

  2. Melanie Maitre on August 23, 2021 at 12:07 pm

today I took my 3 year old gsd malamute cross to the vet for an ear infection and his vaccines and I got some surprising news. we had gotten him x rays almost a year ago because he hurt his paw and while they were x raying they found something else. only they didn’t tell us. we are pretty upset because turns out he has arthritis in his hips. we found out today. they found it 9 months ago. so he needs to lose about 10 lbs because the vet says he’s carrying some extra weight that need to come off for the sake of his hips. this would be suitable for weight loss, right? also while I was there she kept pushing hills on me and it was kinda funny because it costs like 3x the price of this for 1/8 the quality lmao. everyone, make sure you ask your vet to review food they recommend and tell you why it would be the best for them because sometimes they are just trying to make a sale.

I took my puppers to the vet today which is the 4th time in the last 6mos or so…he has been having digestive issues too. I wish I would’ve seen your video first bc no lie… the way you described the health issues Bentley was having, is the exact same my BamBam is currently experiencing. The similarities actually gave chills but I took it as a sign to try this. Plus he is an extremely picky eater(long haired chihuahua btw), so I’ve spent enough money trying to find wet, canned, and dry food that he will actually eat. I’m going to try your recipes for homemade meals and see how it goes. Thank you for going thoroughly thru everything! I have also watched the rest of the homemade dog meals videos! Wish me luck!🥺

Great video! I have a 1 year old yorkipoo and plan on using your recipe for him because he does not eat enough kibble and doesn’t really care for it. He is also throwing up randomly and I think it’s from kibble. Any idea how much I should feed him of your recipe? He is 10lbs and won’t be getting much bigger.

  19. Linda Kaufmann on August 23, 2021 at 12:23 pm

This sounds just like my baby vomiting every single day her coat is so dry I am at my wits and the vet said her blood work came back OK. Put her on Pepcid AC didn’t help every single night she wakes me up at 1:30 2 o’clock in the morning throwing up every night it’s been months and months since I’ve had a full nights sleep and not to mention my baby not be able to sleep either I’m praying this helps

  20. Derelyn on August 23, 2021 at 12:23 pm

I’m a new dog mom and My dog is super pickey I made this recipe last night and She loves it! No more paying almost $15 everyday for dog food! Thank you ❤️

  21. caribemama on August 23, 2021 at 12:24 pm

I wouldn’t peel the sweet potatoes 🍠 because they too need fiber in their diet, also, stay away from baby carrots as they are bleached and colored ( look it up) and the brown rice has higher concentration of cyanide.
