I love your video’s¡! I was given a female pitador name L E as her owner had to suddeny go to jail. All i know is she had 2 other owners before that. So i was the 4th one in her 1st year. She was a junk yard dog and approximatly 1 yr old (nos 1 1/2) and her name is all i know. I need your lease. I can’t afford to get another one. The good Lord knows i spent every extra Penny i have trying to save this dog i love so much. The 1st week i had her she went into heat, got sprayed by a scunk, got spade. Got shots. Chase a kid and was kicked out of a city for it. So as you can see i was in way over my head. She is my 1st dog. I’m 63 yrs. Old and 4 months into this now. Please pick L E to win your lease. Thank-you, sincerely, Cary and LE

My first Rottie "Tigger" and I used a 1/2" x 6′ leash. But this was after he was trained and went thru the 6 Week Obedience Board and Training. In between those weeks. I got to visit the Trainer to first watch a video of the first day and every other day as they workedwith him. The video was brief and simple. It showed his progress each day for the first week. He then brought him in for a quick Hello for me to say hi and give him a hug. But to also see if he would jump on me or come to my left side and follow my commands that Matt briefed me on prior Tigger came in the room. I do believe and agree 100% about using the 4′ leash. Cause before I decided to take Tigger to this Class. I had a Very Difficult time controlling him. Andit became out of control. From being wrapped up, pulled, in both our ways to flat out Unsafe. Unfortunetly, after I lost my wife from Cancer. Tigger passed away 8 months later. Then followed Kitana (our other Rottie). We then got Maya (female German Rottie) whom we just lost 8 months ago. Tigger was the only one that went thru the Boarding Training. Each of our Rotties are missed and each lived the Average life of 12+. Tom you provide an Awesome Service and Provde Pet Lovers/Owners the True & Important Guidelines to become that Responsible Master. I just subsrcibed and I also hit the Like and the Bell Button. Oh, I now own for the first time an American Pitbull. Kiki just turned 12 months. She is a handful. The typical chewing, barking, pulling on the leash etc. I myself should know better and take full responsibilty. LOL.. So as I save a little to sign up for classes I will be watching some of your videos here. I will make that "Choker" and look for that 4′ leather leash. God Bless and Thank you. Jeff

I purchased one of the slip collars you have been showing us. OMG I can not use it. My dog just does what she always does and never listens. WHY is it so hard, yet you make it look so easy. Feeling annoyed over here in Aussie Land!!!

I find using a light weight nylon leash was the very lightest to use with my gentle leader so there’s not as much weight pulling constantly on his nose. Makes my corrections more noticeable I believe, but my Go,den is good on walks

THomas…On the strength of this video I have discarded my 6 foot leather leash and will look for a 4 foot, half inch wide leash. Great information today and every day. I would like to see you do an entire segment on prong collars. So many people tell me to NOT use one but you have made me think twice about it. Shoot some close-ups of the prongs and do the wrist wrap to show that it doesn’t hurt the dog. Thanks again and continue to march. Herb Glover – Orange Park, Florida

Super glad I found you. Me and my GSD had a horrible experience and both of us need your help. My unaltered male GSD And I were in my fenced front yard on his long lead. I had just gone outside to work on his recalls. Two female pitbull’s were carousing the neighborhood. We could not see them because of my fenced yard. They came in my yard and he kept winding around me to protect me from them. He then lunged at them which put me down into the middle of the three of them fighting. I’m old enough to be your mother so this was very scary for me. I had all kinds of scratches and bruises. Luckily I had on my cowboy boots so I was just taking the credit out of them all all. My GSD has been in school all of his life and he is now afraid of dogs. I recently brought home a female puppy for him so he tried to kill. How do I fix this behavior that he learned from my irresponsible neighbors

  33. Ruth Ann H. on September 23, 2021 at 5:57 am

I have just started watching your sessions. I have Siberian huskys. Of course they are hard to train but worth it. I adopted a female husky 6 months ago and found out she doesn’t like small dogs. She will kill them. I wish i would have known that. Been muzzle training her and that has gone well. I am lost on what to do because ti get her help will cost me 3 thousand dollars. I don’t have that kind of money right now. Help do you have any suggestions?

  34. LittleNinjai on September 23, 2021 at 5:57 am

Tom, I just rewatched this video after watching so many of your more recent videos. You still have Hawk! What made you change your mind to keep him?

  35. Tara Bittle on September 23, 2021 at 5:58 am

I was watching your training earlier for anxious dogs. It looked like you were using a leash longer than 4 ft. Am I wrong? We have 2 husky brothers who are 2 years old. They are good at home but very anxious away from home and we like to camp, so it’s really inconvenient. I am sick of it and want to start working with them. Our 2 older huskies are much better on leashes, but could still use some work for pulling. Please let me know what you recommend for that. I was about to buy a 15 ft rope leash so I’m glad I looked for this 1st lol. Thank you!!!
