Zampa Foldable Dog Play Pen Review

I’m on the hunt for the perfect home-within-a-home for my dog, Nala, and I think I may have just found it!

This fits all my dog’s needs for her own little safe haven, and despite the drawbacks of it, I absolutely love it!

I have a similar one from a different brand (smaller size though) for my 30lb dogs, and I love it! The thing is not heavy enough to contain them if they really wanted to get out, but I don’t use it to lock them up. (They can’t bust through the door, but they can roll it like a giant hamster ball if they lean on the sides.)
I use it when we take the dogs with us to family events, or when I send them to a dog sitter, so they have a familiar "home base" they can retreat to, rather than restlessly pacing around an unfamiliar environment. In order for it to actually be a familiar place to them, I always keep it open when we’re home, and they can go in and out as they please. It’s nice and homey, so they do like to use it without needing to be told. It’s super helpful for avoiding separation anxiety when sending them to a dog sitter.
I had a hard time finding any round dog beds that actually fit inside it. All the round beds I found were either too small, or so thick that they take up a third of the height, so my dogs can’t stand up in it anymore. So I’ve settled on piling multiple round bathroom rugs in it, until there are enough to create a nice, soft layer.

I’m thinking of getting this giant size next time I raise a puppy, so I can set it up in public parks and let the puppy do some people watching/get socialization, but without the risk of contracting parvo while walking on potentially contaminated soil. The fact that this pen has a floor should keep the pup safe. I’ll also be getting one of those doggy strollers for more exploring without letting the pup be in contact with the ground. As much as the risk of parvo sucks, the risk of an undersocialized dog developing fear aggression is so much worse, so I wanted to find safe ways to keep both risks to a minimum.

Seriously wish you would have had the power to leave her in the pen long enough to see if she would try to jump out or push it over or something. Now we’ll never know if she could actually collapse it by jumping on it.

Thank God for your video! I finally was able to collapse this beast and put it in the bag!! You’re right… horrible horrible horrible directions! 🥰

Hey, I have the large one and i use it as a cage because it’s a bigger area for my two small dogs. The thing is, I put puppy pads down and they use it yet the playpen gets very stinky and I don’t know how to clean it I tried wiping it down with Lysol (kept it away from the dogs for a hours until the Lysol scent wasn’t strong) and it still stinks. How do I clean it properly so it don’t stink?

My dog Meeka looks exactly like your Nala. I adopted her two months ago, she had her little ribs showing. She was soooo small! Started feeding her really good fresh food, she was putting on weight like a champ! Then I was like wow, maybe I better cut back because she’s gaining at a quick clip. Then I saw her little teats getting big……yup, she was pregnant!! The puppies are one month today and Im looking for something like you have for when we travel to my parents at Christmas. She’s an excellent mother and pups are doing wonderful! Thanks for this video!

Hey, how is Nala doing? Have you left her any longer in the playpen? Also, what size did you buy?

Hi! I just ordered this playpen in this large size. I don’t even have my puppy yet. I’m getting a miniature poodle 🐩 so the medium size might have been fine but it’s more so keep the puppy safe and not in a small crate at the same time. Not wandering around the house and (hopefully) not having accidents in the house. Is it too big? 😂 if you were buying again would you go large or medium 🤔

I have a puppy and hes growing super fast! Hes 3 months and already 30 pounds! I was wondering, hes in a crate right now but I want to upgrade to a playpen. I dont wanna get the large large ones because its a bit expensive but would it be fine if i got a small or medium because his dog bed and food bowls will fit perfectly and small-medium size is still a lot bigger than a crate. Not being abla to burn off energy is fine for me, because I exercise him a lot and I put him in his crate to sleep. (I dont think he would be able to run in it anyways since he is really big).
